With the curriculum focus on academic growth and the pressures of state testing, the social/emotional needs of gifted learners often get treated as an educational afterthought. This session will provide an opportunity to reflect on this often unintentionally neglected area of students' education and provide strategies for teachers to become leaders in bringing a vertically aligned action plan for social/emotional development of gifted learners to their campus.
